| The
world of connectors is as vast as the world of batteries and
it can be difficult to source the right connector for a certain
battery.
In our
experience we have found that there are two effective methods
of identifying connectors:
1. Photographs:
Taking a picture of the connector and sending it to us is
very useful. Ensure that the polarity of the connector is
clear and where possible state the dimensions of your existing
connector.
2. Schematics: A good schematic of the connector can also
be useful; the diagram must be clear, again with polarity
indicated (e.g. position of red and black leads) and dimensions
of the connector.
Over the
years we have built up a stock of common connectors which
we may hold in stock or can easily get hold of. Some can be
more difficult to source, in this case we recommend you send
your existing connector to us and we will re-use it on the
new battery pack; alternatively if you have the facility we
can leave the battery with tag terminations and you can re-solder
the connector yourself.
NOTE:
Never solder directly to a battery, always use batteries with
solder tags and solder to these.
We
have put together a page of common connectors used on packs
we have made in the past. The reference given to the connectors
is one we have given for ease of recognition on our part.
If you cannot see what you require please contact us via e-mail,
telephone or fax and we will be happy to help.
