There is a very wide range of dive torches available on the market; small LED rotating bezel torches costing as little as £7 or £8 generally run using standard alkaline AA batteries which are widely available. The more sophisticated umbilical torches can cost up to £500 or more; these torches have separate containers which house a special battery, made up of a number of cells. They are usually made of rechargeable NiCd ,NiMH or Lithium-Ion cells which can deliver the enough energy to the high power torches. We have had a lot of experience in building packs to fit into dive torches (as well as dive computers). Because of this, and to make it easier for you to purchase replacement batteries for your device, we have created a list of previously made packs. We are currently building up our database to list all the makes and models of torches which use each pack. If you find a pack that suits your device but we do not have it listed then please let us know and we will add it to our database.
If you cannot find a battery to suit your device then please contact us and we will be happy to help. In order for us to design a pack for you quickly it would be helpful if you could provide the following specifications:
- Voltage requirements
- Capacity of the battery (mAh or Ah rating)
-
Battery chemistry (NiMH, NiCd or Lithium)
- Cells used or pack/individual cell dimensions
- Battery terminations
- Make and model of your torch
If you have access to a digital camera then emailing us with a picture of the battery would be good or physically sending us the pack will enable us to in essence copy the pack so your new pack will be a direct replacement.
