Petzl's concern is for the safety and satisfaction of their end-users and these actions have enabled Petzl to stop the illegal manufacture of their products. Counterfeit Petzl products are not a new phenomenon and over the years, they have discovered counterfeits or copies of several of their products:
- Counterfeit headlamps/torches with the Petzl logo, including headlamps/torches from the TIKKA and MYO lines
- Counterfeit copies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without the Petzl logo, such as ASCENSION handled ascenders, the ASAP, etc.
