Our main business is the assembly of custom special
battery packs and as such we have in stock many different sizes
of shrink sleeves used to insulate and package different size battery
packs. We have been asked on numerous occasions to supply short
pieces of sleeves to individuals, clubs and schools for various
projects. We put together the following page to assist people to
help choose the correct size.
The art of achieving a nice neat job is to choose
a sleeve that is the tightest fit around the item and then to apply
an even heat, using a hot air gun, taking your time so as not to
cause the sleeve to split.
A common mistake that people make is to use shrink
sleeve that needs excessive heat to shrink down and not realising
that this heat can actually cause damage to the original cells sleeving
and therefore exposing potential short circuits. The PVC sleeving
we use shrinks reasonably easily.
