Like many companies, we have over the years contributed to many charitable causes, usually on an ad-hoc basis. This year we decided to take a more organised approach and we have adopted St Clare's Hospice as our chosen main charity to support.
Information about the wonderful work that is carried out at St Clare's Hospice can be found on their website.
Our staff have risen to the challenge and set up a fundraising committee. Our first fundraising charity night raised around £550. Other events planned include clothing and book collections. Involvement in both the Robin Hood Sponsored Walk and the Ladies Midnight walk in July.
We also put in a team in to It's a Knockout event. The fantastic thing about this is that whilst we are making a small contribution to the work of our local Hospice we are all having great fun and creating great memories.
One of the staff also completed a gruelling trek to Base Camp Everest raising money for both St. Clares Hospice and Show Racism the Red Card charities and quite recently another member undertook an even more energetic bike ride from London to Paris in aid of The Stroke Association.
Our company also sponsors a local under 12 football Team called the South Shields Raiders.
We do support other causes on occasion but we have to ask that any requests need to be put into writing so that they can be given fair consideration.
Here are a few of the images of our staff in action. We hope that they may inspire you to do something similar yourself:
